The AiM MX2E Plug & Play Dash Logger & SmartyCam HD 2.1 is our ultimate kit for track days. With real-time overlay videos, this kit will certainly help improve your lap times and push your boundaries.
The AiM MX2E Plug & Play Dash Logger kit has been specifically designed for the Lotus Elise and Exige 2004-2020 models (fitted with a Toyota engine)*. The dash features a 6″ high contrast, high-quality TFT display with 18 integrated LEDs, and is mounted in the included bespoke instrument cluster. 
2004-2007 (version with airbag) will require an adaptor harness, available to select at the top of the page.

The cluster is easy to install and includes housing for the included GPS Module. There are four integrated buttons (two on each side) built into the sides for scrolling through the pages/menus. When switched on the MX2E will automatically recognize the venue and start to download the start/finish coordinates and calculate lap times when these coordinates are crossed. We already have over 4,000 tracks on our database, if you are at a track not on the database, it is possible to create and load it on the database using our Race Studio 3 Software.

Display
The MX2E dash has two types of display. You can choose between the road or track and even choose between analogue or digital. There are 16 display layouts to choose from, with four different colour options. Also supplied with a GPS Module which will provide accurate GPS speed, lap timing and track mapping. You can view the track data directly from the dash or more in-depth analysis can be viewed using our Race Studio 3 Software. This will enable you to understand graphs, histograms and tables to help you make comparisons to different laps or sessions on track days.
With a wide range of icons available on the display this dash offers a vast source of information while you are driving.
 

Integrated LEDs
The MX2E features 18 solid LEDs –  left or right direction, shift light made up of 10 LEDs, hand brake on, fuel level low, immobiliser on, position lights on, high beam on and engine problems.
 

Data Hub
The data hub included in the kit provides you with four additional CAN channels and works as an interface between your MX2E and your SmartyCam HD 2.1. The Data Hub will enable you to add a Lambda Controller, TC Hub, or more cameras. The data hub is available in a choice of two lengths 40cm or 150cm.
 

SmartyCam HD 2.1
The AiM SmartyCam HD camera has been designed for motorsports. Its purpose is to provide you with videos that include all the technical information you need to help improve your performance while you’re on the track or road. The front mount of the camera features a 128 x 128 pixel TFT colour display offering immediate playback and helps with the initial setup. With a choice of three lenses 67°, 84°, 120°.
The SmartyCam HD 2.1 automatically overlays on your video all the data you need, speed, RPM, lap number, gear shifts and much more. You can choose the graphical layout to suit your requirements by choosing from the many different overlays available.

Data is available from a large number of sources such as GPS track map, vehicle position, speed, lap and split times. AiM Loggers/Dash Loggers connected to your ECU offer RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures and  sensors.
 

Automatic Start/Stop
When you’re at the starting grid the last thing you want to be doing is fumbling around with your camera. The SmartyCam HD has been designed with this in mind and switches on/off automatically and starts/stops recording in the same way.

The SmartyCam HD can be switched on by the logger it is connected to. Switch-off is automatic too, you decide after what period of non-activity the camera will switch off.

Recording can also be started/stopped automatically or via the keyboard. With an automatic switch-on, the camera will start recording when the speed or RPM threshold is exceeded. In this case, you can simply decide how long after dropping below the selected threshold the video will automatically stop.
